At I Am Me, we stand at the intersection of Black identity, LGBTQ+ liberation, and unapologetic allyship. We were born not from big boardrooms or major funders, but from living rooms, community centers, and kitchen tables—where our people come together to heal, to fight, and to dream.

Let’s be clear:

Similar to numerous organizations led by Black individuals, we seldom obtain corporate sponsorship. This isn't due to a lack of need, but rather because we are often overlooked or our mission doesn't align with theirs. Our foundation is built on community, accountability, and truth. We won't dilute our mission or voice just to gain a place at someone else's table. We've created our own.

Each workshop, event, Zoom support group, and mutual aid action is made possible by ordinary individuals who believe not only that all LGBTQ+ lives matter, but also that Black LGBTQ+ lives are significant, our stories are important, our cultural pride celebrations should be seen and our future deserves investment.
