United We Pride: Why Celebrating Our Cultures Makes the LGBTQIA Community Stronger

The LGBTQIA community is a vibrant tapestry of cultures, identities, traditions, and experiences. The beauty of our community is not that we are all the same—it is that we are not.

The Rainbow was never meant to be one color.

According to research from the Williams Institute at UCLA, approximately 9% of adults in the United States identify as LGBTQ. Our community includes people from every racial, ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic background.

Culture matters

Our cultures shape how we celebrate, communicate, support one another, and understand family. LGBTQIA identity is woven into culture rather than existing separately from it.

Unity does not mean uniformity

Unity is not about sameness. It is about standing together despite differences. The strongest communities embrace diversity while pursuing shared goals of dignity, equality, and inclusion.
